You may be wondering what is our story and why renew our vows. Most of you might not know that Rudy (Rodolfo) and I never had a wedding. We did get married though, in Las Vegas at a drive-thru; yes, a drive-thru. By renewing our vows, after more than 30 years of marriage, we can finally enjoy a long awaited celebration with our friends and families.

Rudy and I met when we were really young. One day my friend and I were walking home from school when we ran into Rudy and his friend, Ivan. Ivan knew my friend and we were introduced to one another that day. Weeks after we met, I found out that Rudy had feelings for me, and I started to have feelings for him as well. We would meet after school and he would walk me home. Back then there were no cell phones; so we would write to each other love letters (to this day we still have some of our letters to one another).

May 25, 1983 is officially the date we started dating. You can say we were high school sweethearts. Over those years, we started growing as a couple. Fast forward, we then got married on October 31, 1993. "What's up with these dates?," you might ask. It just tells you that we are no longer young. However, our love for one another is still magical as when we were younger. Throughout our marriage, we have faced trials, difficulties, challenges, adversaries, you name it. But by God's grace, He helped us to get through them and has continuously strengthened our marriage. God has blessed us with three children; LJ, Roshell and Roell, and now a beautiful grandchild named Rubilyn.
